WELCOME TO THE ASHINGTON LEISURE PARTNERSHIP
Notification from ALP Trustees regarding Grants 11th August 2025.
Since January 25 ALP has been exploring various options with the continuation of the charity and our existing funds. Ongoing discussions with a charity "The Community Foundation Tyne Wear and Northumberland have taken place as this charity has very similar aims regarding grant offers but allows Ashington Leisure Partnership the opportunity of withdrawing from all grant administration activities and the ongoing running operations.
ALP had hoped that our aims would have been achieved by now, unfortunately, this process is proving to be much more complex involving the engagement of a firm of Solicitors and a Chartered Surveyor. As a consequence, ALP are reluctantly terminating all Large and Small Grant application activities from 11th August 2025..
Once the above process has been completed additional information regarding the process of grant applications will be placed on the Website and Face Book Page.
When Ashington Leisure Partnership was created in 2012 it had the aim of assisting the people of Ashington and surrounding area in accessing sport and recreation activities through provision of such facilities and, or provision of the means by which they can participate. We continue those aims now through awarding grants locally.
The Trustees went through a process of review and determined that this aim going forward would be amended to assist other organisations in the provision of sport and recreation facilities and, or activities for the benefit of the people of Ashington and surrounding area. Offering financial assistance to individuals would continue through the John Talbot legacy.
ALP wishes to announce the recent death of Alan Thompson, a very valued colleague and for many years a Trustee of our charitable trust. Alan's input and contributions at our regular Management Meetings will be sorely missed by all Trustees and at this time Ashington Leisure Partnership wish to convey our condolences to his family.
